Mediterranean Institute for Protocol Studies (IMEP) is expanding its practical training through a formal internship arrangement connected to the 75th Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana Gran Premi Banc Sabadell (VCV). This collaboration links IMEP’s degree programs in Event Organization, Protocol, and Institutional Relations with real-world event operations for the VCV’s upcoming edition.

The partnership led to the formal signing of an internship contract between the two institutions. VCV’s director Ángel Casero and IMEP’s director Jorge Rodríguez were present to finalize the agreement. The arrangement enables a group of IMEP students pursuing official degrees to intern at the next VCV edition, scheduled from January 31 to February 4, 2024.

Trainees will take an active role in the event’s planning and execution, contributing across the Valencian Community as the race travels a five-stage route from north to south for both the men’s and women’s competitions.

VCV traces its roots back to 1929, when the race began as the Vuelta a Levante. Today it covers roughly 180 kilometers and has earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious and enduring cycling events in the Valencian Community. It is also listed in the International Cycling Union calendar as a key test for professional teams, including those from the World Tour. The 2024 edition anticipates participation from World Tour squads, underscoring the event’s status on the international cycling calendar.

With this new agreement, IMEP has expanded its portfolio of internship opportunities to well over 100 partnerships with a mix of companies and public institutions each year. These collaborations give students the chance to gain hands-on experience across sectors related to events, protocol, and corporate relations. IMEP is a center affiliated with Miguel Hernández University (UMH) and has more than two decades of history delivering programs in event organization, protocol, and corporate relations, offering both public and private degree pathways.
