Bogdan Shershun, a former defender for the Ukrainian national team and CSKA Moscow, has passed away at the age of 43. This news was shared by journalist Vladimir Zverov on his social channels.

Born in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine, Shershun rose through the ranks at Dnipro, making his senior debut for the club in 1997. In 2002 he transferred to CSKA Moscow, where he appeared in 76 matches. During his time with CSKA, he earned the Russian Premier League title twice (2003, 2005) and won the Russian Cup on two occasions. The 2004/05 season was highlighted by CSKA Moscow lifting the UEFA Cup, in which Shershun played a part as a defender.
After his stint in Russia, Shershun returned to Dnipro in 2005. Three years later he joined Arsenal Kyiv, followed by a spell at Krystal Kherson and finally Volyn Lutsk, where his playing career concluded in 2014.
Shershun wore the Ukraine national jersey on four occasions. Following retirement, he pursued work as a football pundit on television, sharing insights and analysis drawn from his top-level experience.
