This new edition unfolds next weekend as a combined test titled “Finestrat Costa Blanca Roads.” It remains one of Spain’s most symbolic mountain races and a reference on the international stage. The route begins and ends in Finestrat and traverses the province of Alicante’s most iconic peaks, including Sierra de Aitana, Puig Campana, and La Serrella. The course also crosses the municipal borders of Navy Blue Polop, Benimantell, Benifato, Beniardà, quatretondeta, Fageca, Confrides, and Sella.

As usual, six different distances will be offered, with about 1,700 runners from around the world choosing their personal challenge, testing body endurance, and pushing themselves to the limit.

The grand challenge is the 103-kilometer Grand Road, available as an individual or relay event, with two runners per team. It features a cumulative ascent of 5,900 meters and, due to the route’s character from Puig Campana to the summit of Sierra de Aitana, is considered among the most demanding in the country. Participants in this long distance will start at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, and race through the night across Alicante’s mountain scenery.

On Saturday, November 18, the program will begin with the 65-kilometer Ultra Trail Costa Blanca, followed by the 41-kilometer Marathon and the 21-kilometer Puig Campana Trail (half marathon). There will also be a gentler Mini Road, an 18-kilometer option suitable for many, which can be completed on foot as well.

Pain and fun in the mountains of Alicante

In this edition, the event’s presentation highlighted not only the thrill of the race but the stunning natural setting that draws visitors year after year. The gathering is expected to boost local tourism and attract around 2,000 exhibitors from around the world, contributing to the regional economy.

Present at the event were key sponsors and local officials who underscored the race’s appeal, the national reputation of Alicante’s trail-running circuit, and the positive impact on the municipalities involved.

Images from the presentation at Finestrat Town Hall captured the moment when regional representatives emphasized the event’s importance and its long-standing role in promoting outdoor sport across the Valencian Community. The race continues to establish itself as one of the premier trail-running events in the region, drawing hundreds of participants yearly who come to enjoy both the challenge and the area’s tourism offerings.

Officials noted that Finestrat will host the year’s standout sports event, with 1,700 runners arriving from all over the world to take part in this major gathering.
