Evgenia Tarasova and Fedor Klimov
Evgenia Tarasova, who shared the Beijing podium with Vladimir Morozov to win team silver, kept her private life private for a long time. Reports from Alesya Ember suggested that Tarasova was preparing to wed fellow Olympic medalist Fedor Klimov, who previously earned team gold with Ksenia Stolbova and team silver at the Sochi Games. Klimov is married to former skater Alexander Enbert’s partner.
A few days ago, sources claimed Tarasova and Klimov would marry, and the ceremony appeared imminent. On June 17, wedding photos surfaced on the couple’s social media feeds.
The Russian Olympic Committee congratulated the pair on their marriage.
“Congratulations on the wedding day to Evgenia Tarasova and Fedor Klimov, Olympic medalists in figure skating. May they live happily ever after,” stated the ROC press service, accompanied by a photo of the newlyweds.
At the Olympic Games Tarasova and Morozov earned silver in the individual event. They achieved a podium finish that had eluded them in Pyeongchang four years earlier, where a series of mistakes in the free program kept them from the top three. Interestingly, after the 2018 Games the pair hinted they were no longer together as lovers, yet they continued to partner in sports duets.
Tarasova recalled, “We still share good relations with Volodya. We can talk openly as old friends. We stopped living together,” she explained.
The couple has been a pair since 2014, and in numerous interviews both Tarasova and Morozov described an instant connection on the ice with coach Nina Moser. Unofficially, the split was linked to the 2018 Olympic outcome, something Tarasova hinted at in discussions about a quarrel with a loved one after the Games.
“After the Olympics I heard from someone I trusted that I couldn’t win. It lingered in my mind during tough moments. Yet I still skated. I am a vulnerable person and take offense easily, especially from people I trust. We had occasional disputes with Volodya, but we kept working because we knew where we were headed. What others write or say about me matters little,” the skater shared.
Little was known about Klimov’s private life. He did not publicize his dating life, but he had a long close relationship with Stolbova. The two skated together until the 2017/18 season when they decided to part ways professionally. Klimov later moved into coaching and, in 2019, joined the ISU’s single and double skating technical committee as the athlete representative.
Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov
For years there were rumors about the romance between Russia’s top ice dance pair. The pair showed affection publicly, sharing photos together and spending their free time side by side. In early summer, social posts from Katsalapov and Sinitsina announced wedding plans. Katsalapov proposed during a joint vacation.
“She said yes! I had dreamed of this moment for a long time. I prepared the ring in advance, kept it with me, and waited for the moment,” Katsalapov wrote on his Telegram channel. “I wanted everything to feel natural and a bit unexpected, and it did. We are both incredibly happy. We are extremely happy!”
He later joked about choosing the ring, admitting he did not know her ring size, so a clever plan was hatched with a mutual friend who staged a photo shoot to learn the size. Sinitsina apparently never wore a ring on that finger, so the size was deemed medium, a detail they planned to adjust later.
The couple has competed together since the 2014/15 season, collecting golds at nearly every major international event. They are Olympic champions in the team event (2022) and Olympic silver medalists in ice dance (2022), with world and European titles to their names.
Alexandra Trusova and Mark Kondratyuk, stars of Russia’s singles program, have also drawn attention for their relationship. Kondratyuk helped the national team secure gold in the Beijing team event and supported Trusova as she chased early-life milestones. Trusova made history in Beijing by landing five quads in a single free program, though she did not win the individual title. The couple announced their romance with shared vacation photos in Dubai in early May, followed by frequent joint appearances on social media. Trusova explained that exploring life beyond figure skating has been an exciting journey, and Kondratyuk has joined her at events such as Moscow’s Athletics Week, where she tried long jump.
Polina Panfilova and Dmitry Rylov surfaced in the news a few days after Trusova and Kondratyuk’s romance became public. Their vacation photos included a kiss, and fans congratulated them on a budding partnership. Rylov later described the early stages of chemistry as challenging due to contrasting personalities. He noted Panfilova is more aggressive on the ice, while he is more emotional off the ice. They have endured several injuries and rehab periods that impacted their competition plans, including Rylov’s cyst removal and a later injury that caused them to miss the Olympic season.
