All participants for the group stage of the final tournament at Euro 2024 have been confirmed. On 26 March, the decisive playoff games determined which teams earned the right to compete in Germany. The nations advancing are Georgia, Ukraine, and Poland, joining the lineup for the main event.
Twenty-four teams will contest the group stage of the competition. The distribution across the groups is as follows:
Group A features Germany, Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland. Group B contains Spain, Croatia, Italy, and Albania. Group C comprises Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, and England. Group D brings together the Netherlands, Austria, France, and Poland. Group E includes Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, and Ukraine. Group F consists of Türkiye, Georgia, Portugal, and the Czech Republic.
The Euro 2024 finals are scheduled to take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14. In spring 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend Russia from all competitions under their governance. As a result, the Russian national team and its clubs were excluded from the global football calendar, which also affected Russia’s chances in the 2022 World Cup playoffs and the subsequent European Championship cycle.
There was also a notable incident involving a Ukrainian club player who faced disciplinary action after liking a social media post celebrating the victory of the Russian team.
