The fourth edition of the Spanish Figure Skating Championships took place this weekend in San Vicente del Raspeig, Alicante, organized by the Elche Ice Skating Club. A total of 85 athletes competed across the Alevín, Infantil and Cadet divisions, with participants representing federations from Aragon, Castile and Leon, Madrid, Murcia, the Valencian Community, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Catalonia, and the Basque Country. The event also featured Junior and Senior level competitions for both male and female skaters.
Elche Skating Club presented 13 skaters, contributing to a competition that brought an impressive list of winners to the city and highlighted at least three national champions.
Podiums:
In the Female Cadet division, African Agullo Lidon was crowned Spain champion.
Marta Perez Sempere earned the bronze in Alevín Feminino.
In the Boys category, Iván Perez Sempere claimed the national title.
In the Men’s Cadet division, Miguel Santoyo Aldeguer stood as Spain’s champion.
The competition also showcased notable performances across other events:
Emilia Barkun Gonzalez finished fourth in Senior Women.
Rocío Alonso López placed eighth, Sara Alemañ Rabasco fourteenth, and Sofía Bernal Crespo seventeenth in Alevín Feminino.
For the Girls in the same age group, Mireia Palazón Antón ranked eighth, Belinda Sotoca Rodriguez was fifteenth, and Lucía Picó Verdú finished seventeenth.
The federation’s leadership reflected on the event, with President Francisco Jansá Solé, who chairs the National Figure Skating Committee and serves as vice-president of the Royal Spanish Skating Federation, noting that the club made everyone feel at home. He extended gratitude to the judges and officials for recognizing the hard work behind the scenes and thanked the City Council of San Vicente del Raspeig for facilitating access to suitable facilities. In hindsight, he also expressed appreciation for the continuity of support that allowed the competition to proceed smoothly at a long-standing venue.
