Elche CF resumed training this Monday after enjoying a light return session over the weekend. The schedule during the league pause focused on recovery and tactical refreshers, allowing players to regain freshness ahead of the next challenge in the First Division King’s Cup schedule.
During a dedicated work session, more than 2,000 students from 20 local schools filled the stands at the Martínez Valero stadium, part of a joint effort between the club and the Fan Clubs Federation, under the banner “Green fringe cabbages.” The youngsters watched closely as the A team players warmed up, while the coaching staff provided explanations and encouragement from the sidelines.
The young fans saw the team go through their routines with special attention to duo Sebastian Beccacece and the rest of the squad. There was promising news for the Elche coach on the field: Pedro Bigas and Helibelton Palacios returned to action after initial setbacks, boosting options for the defensive line and the team in general equipment sessions.

The Balearic defender had to retire early in the recent match against Valencia after suffering a knee injury. A sprain of the medial and lateral ligaments of the right knee kept him out for the last three fixtures against Celta, Rayo Vallecano, and Almería. Despite the setback, the patient progression has been steady, and he is expected to be available for the upcoming France date, with the team’s coach keeping a hopeful eye on his return. The next Sunday match at Martínez Valero will feature a clash with Atlético Madrid, scheduled for 16:15.
During the match against Girona at Montilivi, the right-back endured muscle issues and spent the halftime interval in the locker room. The injuries affected several players who could not participate in subsequent games against Valencia, Celta, Rayo, and Almería. The return of Beccacece’s squad has seen players like Beccacece, Bigas, and Palacios reintegrate into training, with Beccacece detailing the Monday practice plan for the group.
Omar Mascarell and Carmona continue to monitor their readiness ahead of the Atlético Madrid game. Mascarell trained separately from the main group this morning but did not miss group activities, while Carmona underwent additional sessions with the medical and fitness staff. The progression will dictate their involvement as the week unfolds.
The coaching staff remains optimistic that the majority of the squad will be available for selection. Edgar Badía, who did not travel to Almería because of family reasons, is set to rejoin the team, and Beccacece plans to field a 24-player squad for the encounter with Atlético Madrid.
