The recent weeks of cleaning, restructuring, and screening have pushed Elche CF toward a tentative return to routine next Monday. With the exception of last-minute hires, there is currently no medical lead overseeing care, and resources for physiotherapy are scarce, with only two professionals available. There is also no active delegate after the previous one left the club. Francisco Montoya.

The most recent departure for the Elche organization, whether through resignation or dismissal, involved the club doctor Paulino Vázquez and his son, physiotherapist Álex Vázquez, a development confirmed by multiple club sources.

The Managing Director, Pedro Schinocca, has spent weeks trying to align finances. Relegation to the Second Division triggers major changes across several areas of the club, making restructuring a logical move.

Many expected cost-cutting to be sharp, yet the impact is mixed. Some reductions affect employees with lower salaries, while others with higher compensation face scrutiny for potential adjustment.

The newspaper spoke with several dismissed employees, who noted that their salaries would have been sufficient for Second Division standards, and they were not fully healed when the club moved up to First Division.

The atmosphere among staff is tense. So far, the two relatives mentioned earlier have left the club. They served as chief physicians last season. Additional exits include Alvaro Salas, physiotherapists José Maria García “Milito”, Jonathan Santos, and Víctor Salinas, along with physical trainer Manuel Sempere.

Three long-time care staff members—Miguel Angel Real, coordinator of the Elche Genuine project; Sergio Ortiz; and Jose Antonio Carmona—were added to the list of departures due to the ongoing reductions.

The club also conveyed dismissal decisions to Leyla Benziane, the owner’s personal secretary, Christian Bragarnik, and first-team analyst Óscar Suárez, who joined in 2021 with Fran Escribá. The asset’s offer, though, has not progressed as hoped.

In many cases, departures came with a formal dismissal letter, while others received new proposals—often for smaller sums—that they chose not to accept.

The pre-season match is set to begin on Monday, and Elche CF needs a medical lead. A candidate, Dr. Cesar Quesada, is reportedly close to finalizing terms after a year away. Club officials continue to work on a deal, but no official confirmation has been issued as yet.
