In recent weeks, Elche CF has confronted a spate of injuries and penalties that have affected key players. Sergio Leon and John Chetauya have joined Borja Garcés and Fidel in medical uncertainty, with Garcés and Fidel confirmed to miss the upcoming league clash. The match is set for Saturday, November 4, at 21:00, against Albacete at the Carlos Belmonte stadium.

Additionally, Salinas, Diego González, and Álex Martín are dealing with muscle issues and remain doubtful. If they make the squad, it will likely be under reduced condition, limiting their effectiveness on matchday.

Earlier this week, Elche released the medical updates on Garcés and Fidel following supplementary tests at the Affidea-Tesla clinic. The club reported that the forward, currently on loan from Atlético de Madrid, sustained a left femur injury of degree one. The duration of his absence will depend on recovery progress, but a two to three week layoff appears possible.

Garcés had to withdraw after a brief 15 minutes in the league contest against Tenerife. This marks the second setback for the young Melilla forward, who has already missed almost a month with a torn hamstring suffered in the match versus Valladolid.

Fidel has his own setback, described as a tear in the left sole. The captain did not travel to Huesca as a precaution and appeared in the late stages of the Tenerife game but failed to impress. He also did not travel to Barcelona for the cup clash with Europa. Medical tests confirmed ruptured fibers, and like Garcés, he faces a recovery period of at least two to three weeks.

In addition to these absences, Sergio León and John Chetauya are on the sidelines. The striker is in rehabilitation after suffering a left hamstring fracture in the derby against Eldense. While initial projections suggested around three months out, progress has been encouraging and could shorten the recuperation window.

The young forward is nearing the end of rehabilitation following fibula surgery performed in July. John is already training with the squad and could return to competitive action within a few weeks.

There is more to consider for the squad ahead of the Albacete clash. Salinas was not included in the Cup squad against Europa due to muscle discomfort, and Diego González had to leave the field in the 63rd minute with hamstring issues. Álex Martín also left Nou Serdenya, at age 78, due to calf discomfort. The medical team will run tests on the latter two, and their availability for Carlos Belmonte will hinge on developments today and tomorrow, with updates expected as events unfold around Friday.
