El Campello will host a major viewing event this Sunday, inviting residents and visitors to celebrate the Spanish women’s team as they contend for World Cup glory. The town’s Metropolitan Municipality is setting up a large, left-lit screen measuring 4 by 2.2 meters to deliver a clear, immersive experience for the crowd. To ensure comfort and shade for everyone, fourteen tent extensions, each about nine square meters, will be arranged around the venue, while a substantial sound system and a beverage service offering non-alcoholic options will keep the energy high along Muchavista beach.

Initially, some bars and restaurants in the area were hesitant to install screens for the final match, with only a few venues frequented by visitors from the United Kingdom showing late interest. Yet El Campello remains confident that the national team will draw a wide audience, drawing on the momentum of players who have worn the national jersey with distinction. The town’s plan aims to maximize participation, turning the event into a true community celebration of sport and national pride.

The municipal effort seeks to enable a full national team celebration while allowing fans to soak in the atmosphere at the same location where family-friendly cinema screenings are often held during weekends. The viewing area will be located at a familiar spot near the Biblioplaya, at the entrance to Zofra’s Corner, providing a recognizable and convenient setting for families and fans alike.

Access to the venue will be practical, with the main broadcast kicking off at noon and doors opening earlier to accommodate attendees who wish to arrive early and settle in. The timing is designed to fit a Sunday schedule, with the match expected to run for about two hours, unless extra time or penalties extend the proceedings.

For many, the combination of football and seaside leisure will create a memorable, uplifting Sunday morning experience. The organizers have also reserved space to ensure accessibility, providing indoor areas of roughly sixteen square meters for people with reduced mobility and families pushing strollers, so everyone can enjoy the event with ease.

The initiative is a collaborative effort involving three municipal departments that joined forces to make the celebration possible. The Mayor’s Office, led by Juanjo Berenguer, oversees the project, while the Sports Department, headed by Cristian Palomares, handles the event’s athletic and logistical aspects. The Equality Department, under Maricarmen Alemañ’s leadership, contributes to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
