Kicking off the season, Dynamo Moscow midfielder Alexander Kutitsky declined labeling Dynamo and Zenit as the top powers in the Russian Premier League. He suggested that it is still early days and that assessments of strength will become clearer as the campaign unfolds, as reported by Soviet Sport.

Asked whether Dynamo and Zenit stand as the two strongest clubs, Kutitsky noted that all Moscow teams are capable and competitive. He added that the season has only just begun and that the picture will clarify in due course.

In the latest results, Dynamo Moscow edged Dynamo Makhachkala 2-1 in the second round of the Russian Cup RPL Path group stage, while Zenit defeated Rubin Kazan 1-0.

Zenit, who have captured the league title in six consecutive seasons, sit at the top of the table with 12 points from four wins. Marcel Lička’s squad trails in second place with nine points, having secured three victories and suffered one defeat, including a loss to Zenit in the fourth round of the competition.

A former CSKA defender recently discussed why it could prove challenging for Dynamo to contend for silverware in the RPL this season, highlighting factors such as squad depth, consistency, and the level of domestic competition that continues to intensify across the league.
