Dynamo Moscow claimed a 3-1 win over Lokomotiv in the second round of the Russian Premier League at the VTB Arena, also known as Dynamo Central Stadium. The clash against Lev Yashin’s team delivered an action-packed start and a deserved victory for the capital club. The opening goal arrived in the 12th minute when Luka Gagnidze converted a pass from Bitello, putting Dynamo ahead early. Lokomotiv found an equalizer before halftime, with Dmitry Vorobyov finishing off an assist from Sergei Pinyaev in the 39th minute. After the break, Dynamo asserted control with two well-timed strikes: Milan Majstorovic found the net in the 59th minute, followed by Mumi Ngamalyo scoring in the 85th minute to seal the result.
The win extended Dynamo’s run of form to two consecutive victories. In their league opener, Mazrel Licka’s team defeated Fakel Voronezh by the same 3-1 scoreline, signaling a strong start to the campaign. Lokomotiv, who had a chance to open the season on a high note, edged Akron Togliatti with a 3-2 victory in the prior round, showing there is plenty of competition at the top of the table this term.
Looking ahead, Dynamo is set for an away trip to face Akron in the next round, scheduled for August 3 with a kickoff at 15:00 local Moscow time. Zheleznodorozhniki will then travel to Akhmat Grozny for a match set to start at 20:30 Moscow time on August 4. These fixtures will test Dynamo’s consistency as they push to build momentum early in the season.
Earlier in the campaign, CSKA secured their first victory, signaling a broader battle among the leading clubs for supremacy in the early stages of the new RPL season.
