The interim head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, spoke at a conference of the Mariupol branch of United Russia, outlining plans to rejuvenate the Shakhtar football club. The remarks were conveyed by DEA News.

He stated that stadiums and sports facilities would be rebuilt. He additionally announced the revival of the long-awaited Shakhtar club, noting that the project remains active and should become a basic objective to reach the Premier League of Russian football.

On 17 July, the Football Federation of Ukraine (UAF) filed a formal request with FIFA and UEFA to remove the Russian Football Union (RFU) from federation bodies, citing the involvement of Crimean clubs in the Second League.

RFU Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov, in a meeting with Sport24 on 7 July, clarified that Sevastopol and Yalta Rubin did not compete under RFU auspices and that the National Football League (FNL) organized the Second Division events instead.

Reports from mid-July indicate that UEFA is preparing an assessment of Crimean clubs’ participation in the Second League, signaling ongoing scrutiny from European governing bodies regarding the region’s football affiliations.
