Two goals in La Liga helped Valladolid secure six points in back-to-back appearances by Cyle Larin with the pucelanos. Since arriving just two weeks ago, the Canadian striker has quickly become the team’s catalyst, delivering decisive moments at crucial junctures.
He debuted against Valencia, hitting the back of the net after only 14 minutes at José Zorrilla. The same scenario played out yesterday in a tougher venue, the Reale Arena, where his late intervention proved decisive once again.

Larin entered the field 32 minutes after the end of the game and immediately contributed the winning goal as Pacheta’s Valladolid toppled Real Sociedad, one of La Liga’s stronger sides. In total, he has found the net twice in 46 minutes, pulling Valladolid out of the relegation zone with a timely burst of scoring when the team needed it most.
Who is Cyle Larin, the Valladolid striker: background, club history, and teams
The 27-year-old forward from Ontario, who also holds Jamaican nationality, began his career splitting time between clubs in Canada and the United States. In the United States, he developed at several clubs but found a steady path at Orlando City. His performance there propelled him to Europe after a January 2018 move to Besiktas in Turkey.
During his first Turkish spell, he spent four and a half years with Besiktas. He also spent a loan period at Zulte Waregem in Belgium from July 2019 to June 2020. In the 2021-22 season, he celebrated three titles in Turkey—the league, cup, and super cup—and played in the UEFA Champions League, recording eight goals and one assist in that campaign.
Last summer he moved to Club Brugge, a stint in which he appeared infrequently, before transferring to Real Valladolid in the January transfer window. At the international level, he has earned 57 caps for Canada and played three matches at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
