The professional hockey club CSKA, located in the region of Moscow, welcomed a congratulatory message from the head of Rosneft addressed to Igor Sechin on his birthday.
The message acknowledged Sechin’s long-standing service to the country, noting his extensive experience, high professional qualifications, talent, and leadership. It highlighted his commitment to the energy sector and his sincere emphasis on protecting and promoting culture and sport.
Friends and colleagues also recalled the milestones achieved by CSKA thanks to Sechin’s involvement and support.
According to the congratulatory note published on the club’s site, Sechin’s active participation in the life of Russian hockey and the club has helped the army team secure notable successes over the past decade. The CSKA junior squad claimed the World Cup and the Kharlamov Cup, the club secured the national championship title four times, and the Gagarin Cup was raised twice. The Russian national team shone at the 2018 Olympics, earning a gold medal, while the 2022 Games produced a silver for the squad.
In addition, CSKA wished Sechin continued progress toward his plans, as well as health, happiness, and prosperity.
Since 2011, Rosneft has owned the club. During this period, the team regained its strongest status in the Russian championship and upheld the historic traditions of the Soviet and Russian army clubs.
