The Chilean striker hints at a possible move to North America
The Chilean attacker does not close the door on a potential transfer to Mexican football.
In an exclusive conversation with TUDN, 34 year old Alexis Sánchez spoke about his future ambitions. The conversation featured Iván Zamorano, a fellow Chilean and a revered figure among the American fans of the club known as las Águilas del América. Zamorano asked which Mexican team he would be interested in joining, if the chance arose.
When asked, the Tocopilla native expressed a curiosity about trying his luck in North American football. He mentioned the Liga MX and the MLS as possible destinations, highlighting the appeal of the competition and the cultural passion tied to the clubs. He said he would be excited to explore opportunities in Mexico, acknowledging that such teams have strong supporter bases that commit fully to their clubs.
He added that the exact team has not been decided. There are several options he is aware of, including Pachuca and America. His admiration for America stems from the fans, the atmosphere and the capital, and he noted that Diego Valdés had shared similar impressions that resonated with him.
