Similar to the Panama game, a special celebration is planned for the third star in the Mother of Cities, as the party continues with the squad back in action for another friendly during the FIFA date.
Argentina’s victory lap after clinching the Qatar 2022 title shows no signs of slowing down. After a festive display in the warmup against Panama and a ceremony honored by CONMEBOL, the Albiceleste will keep the momentum going in the second friendly, this time against Curaçao in Santiago del Estero.
As in the previous event at the Monumental, the Madre de Ciudades venue will host music across the day, with performances planned before the kickoff, at halftime, and after the final whistle. It is anticipated that players will invite their families onto the pitch to share the moment, although the trophies are not expected to be on display again in this session.
The celebration will be led by Sergio Goycochea, mirroring the leadership role seen in Buenos Aires. Throughout the afternoon, a lineup of DJs is set to entertain the crowd, including Magda Darchuk, Leo Lencina, Daniel Lazarte, and Meme Bouquet, who will guide the rhythm of the day.
In addition to the music, several live acts are scheduled. The River venue will feature repeated sets from The Totora and the T and the M, with Banda XXI and Q’ Lokura joining the lineup. After the match, La Flor will return to perform the emblematic anthem of the Scaloneta, Muchachos, to underscore the moment of triumph.
The national anthem will be sung in a vibrant chacarera arrangement by Los Manseros, Néstor Garnica, and Mullieris, delivering a distinctly regional flavor to the ceremony.
The agenda of shows at the Madre de Ciudades:
- 5:45 pm to 6:10 pm: The Totora
- 19:15 to 19:30: Band XXI
- 8:30 pm: Start of the match
- Halftime: the T and the M
- End of the game: the fly
- 22:40 to 23:00: Q’ Lokura
Meanwhile, the entire city of Santiago del Estero will dress in celebration to greet the world champions. A Fan Zone on the esplanade of the Forum Convention Center will welcome those who cannot attend the stadium, with music stages throughout the day and a large-screen projection of the match. The squad is also expected to roll through the venue in a convertible as they head toward the Mother of Cities.
