Andijan in Uzbekistan announced on social media that it has signed goalkeeper Maxim Sarraf from the CSKA Moscow youth system.
The club known for its continued expansion is reinforcing its roster with a young talent who has already shown considerable promise. Sarraf, who trained with CSKA’s youth teams and has experience with the Syrian national setup, is welcomed to the Andijan family in a club message described as a warm greeting to a bright future keeper.
The 18-year-old shot-stopper was born in Moscow and has been part of the CSKA youth leagues since 2020. His father, Philip, is Syrian and arrived in Russia from Aleppo in 1982 to study at the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, ultimately making his home there. This background grants Maxim both Russian and Syrian citizenship, a combination that has shaped his international career choices and opportunities.
Sarraf first wore the Syrian youth jersey in 2022, stepping onto the pitch against Jordan on December 18. The following year saw him earn a call-up to the Syrian national team for further international development. His inclusion in the squad for the Asian Cup, held through February 2024, marked a significant milestone in his growing career and showcased his potential on a larger stage.
In other football news from the region, earlier reports noted that Glushakov would not continue his career with Rostov, underscoring the ongoing player movement and the shifting landscape of clubs across the leagues.
