The Paraguayan defender would have numbered his days in the Coapa team.

After a standout run in Open 2022, the Eagles are already turning their attention to the transfer market as Closure 2023 approaches. The Azulcrema board, led by Santiago Baños and Hector Gonzalez Inarritu, is reviewing every possible exit and setting the stage for new arrivals on the eve of a fresh championship.

All this feeds a wave of speculation about which players might join El Nido. Ups and downs, rumors and confirmations are part of the daily cycle in this media landscape.

Multiple reports indicate Bruno Valdez could depart América before the next Clausura 2023. The coaching staff, led by Fernando Ortiz, is not counting on the Paraguayan central defender next season and is looking to streamline the squad by moving him out. The club’s objective is to reduce foreign player congestion and make room for reinforcements.

RAUL RETURNS TO AMERICA?

According to W Deportes, Julen Lopetegui is reported to have given the green light to Raúl Jiménez, who may leave his Premier League club if a move to América opens up. The signing of Matheus Cunha could limit opportunities elsewhere, prompting the Mexican forward to seek a return to the club for a renewed challenge, possibly sidelining MLS options.

ROGER GIVES A FAREWELL MESSAGE?

With foreign player limits in place at América, it seems Roger Martinez could be among those not retained by Coach Ortiz for Closure 2023. In the past year, Roger’s form has fluctuated, and rumors about his departure have resurfaced multiple times.

As of now, neither Roger nor the Azulcrema camp has officially confirmed the news, but the Colombian star did post a farewell-toned message on social media: “Forever Águila. Thank you for the support.”

Despite talk of a move to Leon for Clausura 2023, América confirmed the continuity of Miguel Layún ahead of the next Liga MX season.

LUIS MALAGÓN ARRIVES AT THE NEST

The 25-year-old goalkeeper was announced as América’s new addition for Closure 2023. The young shot-stopper joins the squad to compete for the starting spot with Oscar Jiménez following Guillermo Ochoa’s departure.

GUILLERMO OCHOA LEAVES

Guillermo Ochoa and América were unable to renew the contract, making Memo a free agent. He returned to the club in 2019 and helped stabilize the goalkeeping position, reclaiming his status as a league contender in his second spell with the Azulcremas.

THEY NEGOTIATE FOR LUIS MALAGÓN

According to ESPN, América and Necaxa have opened talks for the transfer of Luis Malagón to the Coapa side. However, the club has signaled that it will prioritize Ochoa’s renewal for the next two years and has not committed to bringing Malagón in immediately.

SECOND CHANCE IN COAPA

The Leo Suarez loan from San Lorenzo has concluded after a one-year spell. The Argentinian remains under contract with América and could be considered by Fernando Ortiz for Closure 2023, as reported by César Luis Merlo.

ISRAEL REYES DRESSES LIKE AN EAGLE

Israel Reyes, the Puebla central defender, became América’s first reinforcement for Closure 2023. The national team hopeful had drawn interest from Las Águilas since the previous campaign, though Puebla had been reluctant to part with him. Reports suggest a transfer near 7 million dollars, with Puebla retaining a portion of any future sale. On Monday, November 28, Reyes traveled to the Coapa facilities for medicals and signed a contract to become an América player.

NEW EXCHANGE BETWEEN EAGLES AND WARRIORS

América and Santos have long maintained a strong relationship within Mexican football, often exchanging players. This season the plan is to swap talents by sending Federico Viñas to La Laguna in exchange for Fernando Gorriarán, a move that would balance representatives from Uruguay.
