Coapa’s group still holds a percentage of the contract known as the Machín. If Ajax sells the player this time, the Azulcremas would collect 15% of the transfer price from the club pursuing their young talent.

Reports indicate the expected transfer value for Edson Álvarez is around $40 million, which would translate to roughly $6 million for América if the move happens during this summer window.

In the previous transfer window, when Chelsea showed interest in Álvarez, América was said to have earned a small portion of the negotiation. Of the $50 million offered by Chelsea, Las Águilas received 7.5 million, but Ajax chose to keep Álvarez for another season.
