Alicante Stage Highlights of the Vuelta 2024

For a little over a month, the Vuelta a España returns to the province of Alicante. On August 30, a 31-kilometer time trial will run from Elche to Alicante. It is expected that top rivals, including Tadej Pogacar and Primoz Roglic, will be present, two stars of the world tour. This was stated by the managing director of the Vuelta a España, Javier Guillén, during the presentation of Alicante’s individual time trial on Monday. Roglic had expressed interest in attending. Guillén noted that his absence due to an injury would have been a loss, particularly if it meant missing a potential fourth consecutive Vuelta title, a feat that would place him among the all-time greats of the event.
