All is set for this Sunday’s discussion surrounding the twenty-seventh edition of the Half Marathon and 10K Alicante event, known as the Aguas de Alicante. The race is organized by the Alicante City Council’s Sports Department in collaboration with Club Atlético Montemar. More than 2,000 runners are expected to participate, with the start slated for 9:30 in the morning. International entrants include athletes from the United Kingdom, followed by participants from France, Poland, and the United States.

The two course distances have been officially approved and certified by the judges of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, ensuring that all times in this edition are official. The runners’ fair will take place at Pier 12, Ocean Race ground of the Puerto, from 10:00 to 14:00 and again from 17:00 to 20:00. Race numbers can be collected up to 30 minutes before the start on Sunday, February 19.

The event will be enlivened along the route by a coordinated show featuring the bonfire and hut commissions for the second consecutive year. This year the prize purse has increased, reaching a total of 1,500 euros. Every participant will receive an official sustainable T-shirt bearing the Esplanade design, produced from 50% recycled plastic fibers from bottles. Finishers will be awarded an official medal featuring the Plaza de Toros emblem, reflecting Alicante’s landmarks. The race kicks off at 9:30 am with the Alicante anthem as the starting signal. ”“
