Four Alicante teams are immersed in the 2024 Copa del Rey and already know the knockout round schedule for the opening day. The draw took place last Tuesday at the Ciudad del Fútbol Luis Aragonés Hall, outlining 55 first-round matchups across a broad field: 16 clubs from the Primera RFEF, 20 from the Segunda División, 18 from the Primera Federación, 34 from the Segunda Federación, 8 from the Tercera Federación, 4 from the Federación Cup, and 10 from regional leagues. The round runs from Tuesday to Thursday, spanning October 31, November 1, and November 2.

SD Amorebieta, last season’s Primera RFEF champion, receives a bye in the first round. A total of 110 clubs will compete in single-elimination matches for 55 spots that advance to the second round. Teams such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Osasuna, and Atlético Madrid, which have already qualified for the Spanish Super Cup, are exempt from the first two rounds of this knockout tournament.

Hércules will begin its cup run against Burgos C.F. on Thursday, November 2, at 14:00. It will be played in the late afternoon at 20:00 as well. The Alicante side preferred moving the match up 24 hours to align with a holiday, but on Monday of that week Burgos agreed to a night game against Real Zaragoza at El Plantío, leading the federation to postpone. Given that on the 5th Burgos will host Eldense in an evening clash at 21:00 in Nuevo Pepico Amat, there is a possibility of a Hércules clash at Rico Pérez in the second round should both clubs advance.

The other three Alicante clubs will host their opponents the day prior. Orihuela will welcome hand and Elche at home, while Espanyol’s scorpions will meet Nàstic on All Saints’ Day at 18:00, the same kickoff time as the match between the Green and White Francs at the Nou Sardenya in Barcelona, where the artificial turf hosts Europa. Deportivo will make its debut, with Blaugranas facing Jaén at La Victoria at 16:30. If Hércules and Orihuela reach the second round, they could be rewarded with a chance to face a Primera División opponent on their home field.
