Russian producer Yana Rudkovskaya, wife of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko in men’s singles, commented on the show premiere of the “Little Mermaid,” saying lead actress Alexandra Trusova, an Olympic silver medalist, had been injured. The remarks were reported by Championship.com.

“Sasha is very tired, she fell yesterday and broke her leg. Today I saw determination in those around Evgeniy Viktorovich, meaning Plushenko,” Rudkovskaya stated.

At the 2022 Beijing Olympics, Trusova earned the silver medal, finishing behind compatriot Anna Shcherbakova. Kaori Sakamoto of Japan rounded out the podium in the event. During the competition, Trusova made history by attempting five quadruple jumps in her free skate. She claimed the Russian Championship title in the 2021/22 season after Kamila Valieva, who had initially topped the tournament, was later disqualified.

Following a suspension that paused Russian skaters from many international events, Trusova did not participate in the Russian Championships during the 2022/23 season. Her most recent appearance on the ice occurred at the Russian Grand Prix in Samara in late November 2022, where she finished second. She is not slated to compete in the 2023/24 season.

There were also reports that a former Olympic champion suggested Trusova might record a joint musical track, adding to ongoing discussions about her professional projects outside competition.
