Alexander Mostovoy on Stankovic and a coaching journey

Alexander Mostovoy, a former star of Spartak Moscow and a long-time member of the Soviet Union’s national team who later plied his trade in Russia, Portugal, France, and Spain, appeared on the show two words with a clear message about his standing in relation to Dejan Stankovic. He insisted that he was not inferior to the current Spartak Moscow coach and added that he believed Stankovic’s position did not automatically elevate him above Mostovoy in football intellect or influence. The former winger spoke candidly about the value of experience in the game and suggested that real authority comes from lived practice on the pitch as well as leadership off it.
