Guillem Arcos and Osvaldas Matulionis will be the captains of HLA Alicante next season, as the Lucentian foundation made official this Saturday. Both have been selected to lead the locker room for the LEB Oro season, when HLA will try to improve their performance from last year, when they failed to make it to the promotion playoffs.
The young player from Alicante becomes the captain of the first team after growing up at the Lucentian base and is now a reference point for players in the club’s sub-categories. In addition, he became the youngest player to make his debut for Lugo at the age of 16 years and 40 days against Basket Navarra for Pedro Ferrándiz.
Osvaldas Matulionis showed his commitment to HLA Alicante, for which he played in all matches last season. He is one of the best strikers in the Lithuanian championship and stands out for his dedication, quality and experience. Matulionis has accumulated seven seasons in the category and has over 200 games in the LEB Oro.
Both will have a tough chance of succeeding the legend of an entity like Pedro Llompart, whose discontinuity for 2022/23 was announced a few days ago. The team is already preparing the course and has in mind the first pre-season friendlies match in the town of Alfaz del Pi against Iceland’s Keflavik in Season 9.
