Science fiction writer Sergei Lukyanenko has announced that he has delayed work on the last novel in the Patrol series for a year. His words convey TASS.
“If you read the books carefully, you can guess the year the events took place in each “watch” book. If I write The Watch now, I will have to describe the entire reality around us. And this is very difficult, it must inadvertently have a very strong influence on the behavior of my hero. So I had to postpone it, I hope I can come back next year,” the author wrote.
In early June, Lukyanenko talked about his plans to complete work on Eternal Watch in the coming months. He explained that he had already written more than a third of the book.
The publication of the novel “Eternal Watch” was scheduled for May 2022, but was delayed. The author later said that he had to “rewrite the entire world in the novel’s universe due to known events”. The Night Watch first aired in 1998, and today’s last episode – The Sixth Watch – was aired by the author in 2014.
Formerly Lukyanenko complained on a culture of cancellation.
