Russian warrior Islam Makhachav abandoned the title of the Champion of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC). This was announced by Dana White’s promotional president during a live broadcast on Instagram (the owner of the Meta was considered pro -extremism in Russia and banned).
White made an advertisement for the UFC 317 tournament and said that the Georgian warrior Elijah Topuria and Charles Oliveira, representing Brazil, will fight for the champion title.
Makhachav abandoned the title of promotion to go to the weight he would organize a duel with the new episode champion Jack Madalen. The date and time of their fights will be announced later.
On May 11, Madalana won the championship by defeating American Belal Muhammad. Immediately after the war, both that and Makhachav stated that they were ready to hold a duel.
In the main war of the UFC 311 tournament in Los Angeles on January 19, Makhachav defeated the representative of Makhachav, Brazil Renato Moikano and defended the title for the fourth time. In the middle of the tour, Makhachav transferred the war to the ground and forced the opponent to surrender. Initially, Makhachav had to fight Arman Tsarukayan. On January 17, Tsarukoyan took part in the war.
