Mark Zuckerberg (Mark Zuckerberg) offered a non -standard look at the role of artificial intelligence in daily life in a recent interview. In his opinion, algorithms can become a tool for combating loneliness, performing the functions of virtual companions or replacing a psychologist where access to specialists is limited.
During a conversation with the technological podcast, De Dwarkesh Patel (Dwarkesh Patel) raised Tsuckerberg statistics: most Americans have fewer than three good friends, although the need for communication according to his estimates is five times higher. “If there is not enough live interaction, technology can fill in the gap,” he said. This is not about replacing real tires, but about support for those who have a shortage of social contacts.
Meta* already integrates the AisStrote into its platforms of instant messengers for Ray-Ban smart glasses. A separate application of Meta AI, as Zuckerberg has explained, has been developed with the calculation of personalization: the system will analyze the interests of the user, such as the algorithms of Instagram or Tiktok tires to offer more relevant communication.

However, the head of the company admitted that the mass acceptance of virtual “friends” barriers will come across. Many are still skeptical about communication with algorithms, given it artificial. “Over time, society will revise the attitude,” Zuckerberg is sure. “People will start appreciating such technologies when they see how they improve their daily lives.”
He has assigned the potential of AI in the field of mental health separately. According to him, a virtual assistant could become a “first aid” for those who cannot afford a session with a psychologist. “This is not an ideal solution, but for many it is the only affordable,” he added.
However, experts remind themselves of the risks: about the dependence on ethical issues of processing personal data. Zuckerberg himself emphasized that the technology is far from perfect – the current development is only the first step. Nevertheless, the trend for the merger of social networks and AI services will apparently only get strength.
