AMD officially introduced the Radeon RX 9070 GRE model. The novelty appeared on the Chinese brand website without traditional presentations, which can indicate the exclusivity for the local market. The global release, when it takes place, is expected much later.
The map is built based on the NAVI 48 chip with the RDNA 4 architecture, but in the truncated version -3072 streaming processors against 3584 in the standard RX 9070. The company frequency varies from 2.22 GHz to 2.79 GHz in the boost mode. Manufacturers promise adapted versions with acceleration, but the reference design is already limited by two 8-pin current connectors during an energy consumption of 220 watts.
The volume of the video memory is reduced to 12 GB GDDR6 (192-bit tires) against 16 GB Senior models. Memory speed is also reduced – 18 GB/s, which offers 432 GB/s due to capacity. According to preliminary data, the RX 9070 GRE is 6% for the previous generation (RX 7900 GRE) in games on Ultra institutions with a resolution of 1440p. However, the real effectiveness will become clear after independent tests.
The starting costs of the novelty are 4399 Yuan (about 50,000 rubles), which is only 100 yuan cheaper than the basic RX 9070. This raises questions about the possible replacement of the previous model in China. The receipt of pre -orders lasts until 8 May – the likely date of the start of the sale. Analysts suggest that the most important competitors of the RX 9070 will be Gre RTX 5060 TI. Until now, AMD has not been revealing plans for an international release, but the Chinese market seems to have the first opportunity to evaluate the novelty.
