Huawei is preparing to present his first arm processor for Personal Computers-X90. This step has become part of the company’s large -scale strategy to create an ecosystem that is completely independent of Western technologies, including Intel -Chips and Microsoft OS.
According to insiders, the X90 becomes the basis for new Huawei laptops and desktops by combining the Kunpeng-920 cores and the Deepseek Neurostea module. Although the exact characteristics of the chip remain classified, experts suggest that its architecture will be optimized for Harmonyos subsequently – an operating system known for low resources consumption. This will compensate for a possible delay in market leaders’ performance.
Due to the restrictions introduced by the United States, Huawei is forced to rely on a 7-nanometer process of Smic-The Only Chinese company that can produce modern chips. The same technology is used in the Kirin 9020 -Processor for Mate 70 -Smartphones. Analysts note that such a choice can delay the development of X90, but actively invests the PRC in the creation of its own EUV equipment to get rid of dependence on Dutch ASML.

The most important advantage of the X90 will be integration with Harmonyos Next and Unified Memory per analogy with Apple Silicon. This approach increases the change of data, but users will deprive users the possibility of an upgrade ram. According to Huaweiingeurs, however, this will pay off the stability of the devices – even with a moderate power of the chip, the system chip promises to be “flexible” in daily tasks.
Initially the announcement of the X90 was expected in 2024, but due to production problems, the release has shifted to the first quarter of 2025. It is still unclear whether Huawei can improve the technology process or submit an alternative to Western counterparts. It remains waiting for official data, but now it is clear: X90 is not only a chip, but a symbol of the technological sovereignty of China, which challenges the global giants.
