“A kind of warm-up”: Vyalbe on remarks regarding acceptance of Russian skiers 11:50

President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe called for a warm-up words International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) President Juhan Elias said he is ready to accept Russians and Belarusians to neutral status. His words lead the way “Match TV”.

“We communicate, call each other, correspond, have all the information necessary for work, etc. We do not hide the truth. This statement, it seems to me, no longer comes from the president of the FIS, but from a person who is still trying to become president of the IOC. Still, this is a warm-up of sorts,” Vyalbe said.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.

Thus, in the spring of 2022, the FIS, following the recommendations of the IOC, decided to suspend Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until the end of the season. Thereupon, the decision was extended. Russian skiers compete only in local tournaments.
