Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The match, which took place at PG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, ended with a score of 5:2. Russian striker Nikita Kucherov scored a double goal for the winning team, while Brandon Hagel, Anthony Cirelli and Nick Paul also scored. Tampa’s Russian goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevsky spent the game on the bench. Kevin Hayes and Rickard Rakell scored for Pittsburgh. Forward Evgeni Malkin did not play in the match due to his injury.
Kucherov also assisted Cirelli in this match. Thus, the hockey player scored 62 points in the current regular season, taking third place in the list of the league’s top scorers this season. He became the first Russian hockey player to reach 60 points.
Kucherov was recognized as the first star of the completed match.
After this match, Tampa ranks sixth in the Eastern Conference with 49 points, and Pittsburgh ranks 12th with 44 points.
