Russian fighter Petr Yan defeated Brazilian Deiveson Figueiredo in the main fight at the No. 248 Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament held in China.
“I felt like I was leading the laps. But anything can happen: I’ve already fallen down once. Before my fight, Merab Dvalishvili said that Figueredo was the best contender for the bantamweight belt. What do you say now, Merab? I want revenge! – Yang said after the fight.
The fight lasted for five rounds and ended with a unanimous decision of the judges in favor of the Russian – 50-45.
Following this victory, 31-year-old Ian has 18 victories. He also suffered five defeats. The Brazilian fighter has 24 wins, one draw and four losses.
In the co-main event of the tournament, China’s Xiaonan Yan and Brazil’s Tabatha Ricci met. This match ended with a unanimous decision in favor of the Chinese representative, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27.
In another fight, Russian Muslim Salikhov and Chinese warrior Song Kanan met. The athlete from Russia won by knockout in the first round.
