“During the test skates I was asked several times why I went skating? And I don’t know why either. But I can’t put an end to this yet. I will not finish until I make this decision myself,” Trusova said.
On September 14, Trusova took to the ice as part of the test skates of the Russian national team and showed a new short program. She cleanly performed the solo double axel and triple somersault, but the step display performed in the second part of the program was unsuccessful – after a bad landing from the triple lutz, Trusova performed a single sheepskin coat.
Before that, the skater last competed in November 2022 and finished second at the Russian Grand Prix in Samara.
On September 28, it became known that the International Skating Union (ISU) does not allow Russian figure skaters to participate in international competitions in the 2024/25 season. The decision regarding the future of local athletes was taken at the congress held on 27 and 28 September. As a result of the voting, Russian figure skaters were deprived of the opportunity to compete in international competitions in the upcoming season, which is the pre-Olympic season.
