Aris had a big away win against ASIL in the Cyprus Cup 1/16 final.
The match held in Lisi ended with Aris’ overwhelming victory with a score of 6:1. One of the goals of the winning team was scored by Russian striker Alexander Kokorin, who entered the field with a captain’s armband. He hit the opponent’s goal in the 34th minute and made the score 4-0.
It was the striker’s second goal this season, having played in five matches in total this season. Kokorin scored his first goal on 24 August.
Kokorin played for Dinamo, Anzhi, Zenit, Sochi and Spartak in Russia. The striker became a player of Italian Fiorentina in 2021. The Russian football player rarely made it into the team and was transferred to the Cypriot Aris on loan in the summer of 2022. The striker played for one season and appeared in 27 matches in the local championship and scored 11 goals. He and his team won the gold medal last season. He returned to Aris on a one-year loan in September 2023.
As part of the Russian national team, Kokorin played 47 matches and scored 12 goals.
