In early January 2025, AMD will present a whole range of new products for different market segments at the international CES. According to insiders on one of the Chinese forums, among the announced new products are Radeon RX 8000 video cards based on RDNA 4, desktop processors Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D with 3D V-Cache technology, as well as processors for laptops and portable game consoles.
Radeon RX 8000 graphics cards should be launched at the same time as competing Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards, but unlike Nvidia, AMD will mainly introduce mid-range and entry-level models aimed at competing with the GeForce RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti. There is no data yet on mobile versions of the RX 8000, which could mean a possible release later in 2025.
Laptops aimed at professional tasks can use the new Kraken Point and Strix Halo processors. For the gaming segment, AMD will offer Fire Range mobile processors that will compete with Intel Arrow Lake-HX. The Ryzen Z2 series chips, designed for portable gaming devices, deserve special attention. The Ryzen Z2 Extreme, Ryzen Z2, and Ryzen Z2G models are expected to hit the market no earlier than 2025, and possibly as early as 2026.
