Slovak hockey player Michal Krystof of the Sochi club of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) left the team without permission and the club plans to handle the situation legally. This has been reported in the press service.
“Michal Krysztof took part in communicating with schoolchildren as part of the “Hockey Lesson” at secondary school No. 18, and then went to the training of the non-playing team. In its statement, Sochi stated that the hockey player left the team without permission after the end of training.
The club also noted that they condemn the player’s behavior and plan to act in accordance with KHL rules.
It is known that 31-year-old Krishtof’s playing time was shortened and this decision was announced by the team’s head coach Sergei Zubov. However, the athlete side is not ready to talk. The hockey player received an offer from Switzerland, but no one reported this to Sochi. The Russian club trusts Krishtof and has no plans to terminate the contract.
In the 2024/2025 season, the hockey player scored five points (2+3) in ten matches for Sochi.
The current champion of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) is Metallurg Magnitogorsk. In the final, they won a crushing victory over Yaroslavl Lokomotiv in the Gagarin Cup, the KHL play-off final. Metallurg won four matches in a row and closed the final series with a score of 4-0.
