Russian hockey player “Amur” Kirill Slepets scored a double in one minute of the match in which his team played in the minority. This was reported by the official Telegram channel of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
In the KHL regular championship match, Khabarovsk Amur beat Vityaz near Moscow with a score of 3:2. At the end of the second period, the home team was in the minority after the substitution of defender Cameron Lee, while Slepets scored two goals in the 39th and 40th minutes.
Amur is in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings with six points after eight matches played.
The current KHL champions are Metallurg Magnitogorsk. They won a landslide victory over Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the play-off finals. Metallurg won four games in a row and closed the final series with a score of 4-0.
In February 2024, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) extended the suspension of the Russian and Belarusian national teams. The organization reported that the IIHF Council will continue to monitor the situation and will consider the reintegration of the Russian and Belarusian national teams for the 2025/26 season in May 2025.
