Goran Djokovic, uncle of 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic, has been elected president of the Tennis Association of Serbia (TSS). This was reported by website organizations.
“My goal is to develop what we started to do. Funding is the basis for everything. I would like to thank the previous President Mirko Petrovic and, of course, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. They helped solve the serious financial problem that the federation was experiencing,” said Goran Djokovic.
Novak Djokovic holds the record for most Grand Slam titles, both men’s and women’s (jointly with Margaret Court), with 24. Djokovic has won 99 ATP titles, 98 of which have been in singles.
In August, the Serbian athlete won the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, winning the Golden Career Slam, which requires winning trophies at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, US Open and the Olympics.
Djokovic previously dropped out of the top 3 Rating Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
