Digital foundry analysts shared assumptions about the technical filling of PlayStation 6-, which has not yet been officially announced. In their opinion, the most important element of the console will be an increased amount of RAM – at least 24 GB. This is due to the integration of machine learning -algorithms that require extra sources for real -time data processing.
Technical specialist Alex Batalia noted that the current RAM indicators for future Sony tasks will not be sufficient. “Modern ML technologies, such as improved rendering or adaptive gameplay, require a considerable memory reserve. 24 GB – the minimum threshold for the basic implementation,” he explained. Some sources admit that the total volume can reach 32 GB with the help of GDDR6 or GDDR7 standards, which will improve performance in 4K and 8K permits.

The updates can be based on PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), that Sony test on PS5 Pro. The improved version, developed as part of cooperation with AMD (Amethyst project), is designed to optimize the image and reduce the tax on iron. As expected, the same project will lay the foundation for the use of 3D chips in PS6, which will increase the energy efficiency and speed of data processing.
At the same time, it is unlikely that the console will be completely digital-the ex-head of the PlayStation Sean Layden previously pointed to the preservation of physical media. Sony is expected to bet on a hybrid approach, combining the power of the new “iron” with cloud services. The market continues to guess about the conditions of PS6, but experts agree: the emphasis on machine training and improved display will determine a new standard for game systems of the following decade.
