Former Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes will sign a contract with UAE Second League club Dubai United, according to Match TV commentator Alexander Poyda. Telegram-channel.
It was learned that the Dutch football player passed the medical examination and the contract will be signed between the parties soon.
Promes’ contract with Spartak was due to expire on June 30. The club did not renew his employment contract.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes to six years in prison for cocaine trafficking. The hearing was held on January 24, with the prosecution requesting a nine-year sentence for Promes. The Dutchman was placed on the international wanted list on February 16. He was also sentenced to 1.5 years in prison for stabbing his cousin during a family party.
On March 13, Promes was arrested in the UAE in connection with a traffic accident. He fled the scene after colliding with a bus. He was previously under house arrest. Promes was released from custody in Dubai on May 17.
