The term of office of the current chairman of this chamber, Piotr Prusinowski – a judge appointed by the National Council of the Judiciary before the changes in 2018 – expired on September 2 this year.
The candidates for the presidency of the Chamber of Labour have not yet been elected. President Prusinovsky has not convened a meeting of judges to elect these candidates. According to the provision included in the law on the Supreme Court during the PiS government, if the candidates for the presidency of the chamber are not elected in accordance with the rules, the President shall immediately entrust the performance of the duties of the presidency of this chamber to a judge of the Supreme Court designated by him, who shall convene a meeting of judges of this chamber within a week. The act of entrusting duties shall be countersigned by the Prime Minister.

Some Supreme Court judges questioned this interpretation of the regulations. According to them, in this situation the Chamber is headed by the highest chairman of the department in this Chamber, namely Judge Dawid Miąsik. A message was posted on the Supreme Court website stating that President Manowska had given Judge Miąsik permission to carry out activities related to the organization and management of the Chamber of Labor and Social Security.
