Famous former Russian forward, former player of the Russian national team Dmitry Bulykin, in his comments to socialbites.ca, spoke about the transfer campaign of Moscow Spartak and noted that it is too early to compare Argentine Ezequiel Barco with the leader Zenit, Brazilian Wendel.
“I think it’s still difficult to make comparisons because we haven’t played very many matches yet. Before the winter break, at least find out which transfers are good and which are bad. Spartak, of course, makes very big transfers, sometimes incomprehensible, but at the same time, if they win gold or medals, everyone will understand and appreciate it. Last season we didn’t win anything, so no one understood anything. If there are any setbacks this season due to such expensive acquisitions, then these will already become question marks for the management. In my opinion, it’s better to have a strategy like Lokomotiv’s, when they trust Russian players, their young students, trust them and, as we see, they give good results. Bulykin believes that Spartak chose a different development option, but if it doesn’t bring results, the management will be asked for the money spent.
Barco has scored two goals and made three assists in five games for Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League and National Cup. The Red-Whites are in fourth place in the table with 10 points after five weeks.
Former CSKA football player appreciated team’s chance of winning the championship.
