Dynamo midfielder Alexander Kutitsky did not call the Moscow club and St. Petersburg Zenit the best teams in the Russian Premier League (RPL), noting that the season has just begun. His words give guidance “Soviet sport”.
“Can we say that Dynamo and Zenit are the two best teams in the championship? All Moscow teams are competitive. “Now it’s just the beginning of the season, we’ll see what happens in the future,” Kutitsky said.
On August 14, Dynamo Moscow beat Dynamo Makhachkala 2:1 in the second round of the Russian Cup RPL Path group stage. Zenit beat Rubin Kazan 1:0.
Zenit, who have won the last six Russian championships, are in first place in the RPL standings. The team coached by Sergei Semak scored 12 points and won four out of four matches. Marcel Lička’s team is in second place with nine points, including three wins and one loss against Zenit in the fourth round of the tournament.
