Russian gymnast Varfolomeev: I appreciate the German school but I don’t forget the Russian school 22:33

Competing for the German team, Russian gymnast Daria Varfolomeev said she won the gold medal in the individual all-around at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The athlete’s words are as follows: Sport.

“I admire the German school, but I do not forget the Russian school. My contribution to this success is 50/50,” said Varfolomeev.

She also told what she thinks of Russia’s leader in rhythmic gymnastics, Lala Kramarenko.

“I don’t think about him at all, he’s not here. And we never competed. All thoughts were only about a successful performance,” added the athlete.

Following the start of Russia’s SVO in Ukraine, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes and recommended that Federations not allow athletes from these countries to participate in international competitions. In December 2023, the IOC allowed athletes from Russia to participate in the 2024 Olympics, but only with neutral status and subject to a number of necessary conditions.

Previously Irina Viner stated Varfolomeev received the basics of rhythmic gymnastics in Russia.
