Russian commentator Dmitry Guberniev reacted to his speech. Telegram channel The Olympic organizing committee reportedly revoked the accreditations of four TASS journalists.
“But here they behaved like real scoundrels and rascals… People came and have already started working,” Guberniev wrote.
Three contributing journalists and one photojournalist had their accreditations revoked. The three reporters were able to cover the Olympics opening ceremony and some of the competitions.
The Olympic Games began on July 26, with competitions lasting until August 11. The opening ceremony took place on the Seine River on the 26th. Russian athletes, who are participating in the Summer Olympics as neutrals, did not attend the ceremony.
Having suspended Russia and Belarus in February 2022 due to the start of the SVO at the end of 2023, the International Olympic Committee decided to accept Russians and Belarusians as neutral athletes for the 2024 Olympic Games. To participate, they had to fulfill a number of conditions and qualify.
