The first international student games “Primorye Youth” with teams from six countries started in Vladivostok on the Russky Island. This was reported by the press service of Rosneft, the title partner of the event.
Athletes from North Korea, Uzbekistan, China, Belarus and India participated in the games in Primorye.
Tournaments will be held in 12 sports: badminton, basketball, boxing, beach volleyball, athletics, tennis, table tennis, swimming, indoor rowing, physical basketball, mini football and chess.
Rosneft noted that the games will help unite students from around the world, create a sense of unity in sports and promote a healthy lifestyle among young people.
The company called for support for mass, professional and youth sports, which are one of the key areas of Rosneft’s social work.
The company’s funds are used to build sports complexes, playgrounds and ice rinks in the regions where it operates.
With the support of Rosneft, dozens of modern large sports facilities were opened in Russian regions.
In addition, the company supports projects aimed at the development and promotion of physical education and a healthy lifestyle.
Rosneft annually organizes corporate sports competitions; oil workers participate in the Energy of Life sports and fitness movement, which aims to pass GTO standards and attracts more than 106 thousand company employees.
The student games will continue until July 26.
