Football manager Timur Gurtskaya in the next episode of the show “This is football, bro!” noted that the issue with the transfer of the capital’s Spartak forward Alexander Sobolev to Zenit St. Petersburg has been practically resolved.
According to him, the agreement could be officially announced in the near future.
“Sobolev will be at Zenit by 99%.” What is holding up the deal? Problems are piling up there every day. “I think Willian Jose’s reluctance to play also has an impact, so they are dragging their feet,” Gurtskaya said.
Sobolev has been playing for Spartak since 2020. In total, he played 139 matches for the team, scoring 58 goals and making 32 assists. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2026.
In the completed season of the Russian Championship, Sobolev played 27 matches and scored five goals. He was reportedly close to a transfer to Zenit this off-season, but Spartak increased the player’s price at the last minute and the St. Petersburg club rejected the transfer.
