Football referee Vladimir Zabanov died during a match in Luzhniki. The 64-year-old referee suffered a heart attack.
By telegram channel “MK: breaking news”, during the next match Zabanov suddenly fell ill on the field – he had a stomachache. The doctor diagnosed a heart attack, the man was taken to the hospital but could not be saved.
It is reported that Zabanov evaluated many veterans’ tournaments and competitions in the Noginsk region, but did not hesitate to hit the ball, despite his age.
Earlier, the honored coach of the USSR in figure skating, Stanislav Leonovich dead 64 years old.
Leonovich competed in double skating. She started her career with Tatyana Muratova, but from the 1977/78 season she began performing with Marina Pestova.
The couple won the USSR championship three times, they also won silver and bronze medals at the world and European championships, at the 1980 Winter Olympics Pestova and Leonovich took fourth place.
Under Leonovich’s leadership, Sergey Grinkov and Ekaterina Gordeeva won gold medals in double skating at the 1988 Olympics.
